About SESE

   The School of Earth Science and Engineering (SESE), Hebei University of Engineering, was merged with four majors, Resources Exploration Engineering, Prospecting Techniques & Engineering, Physical Geography & Resource Environment, and Geographic Information Science in August, 2016.
   Now, there are 47 faculty members, among whom 9 professors and 8 associate professors and 26 with Ph.D. degrees. Meanwhile, there are more than 1000 undergraduate students and over 50 graduate students. There are four bachelor's degree programs based on the above four majors. Meanwhile, there are two master programs: Geological Resources & Geological Engineering, and Geological Engineering. Moreover, SESE has one key lab and several institutes of Hebei Province.
   In recent years, SESE has taken on over 40 projects such as the "973" projects, the "863" projects, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Natural Science Foundation of Hebei province and so on. More than 20 projects won national and provincial awards on science and technology advancement. After reorganizing, SESE strengthened its disciplinary structure and covered comprehensive disciplines in earth sciences. Now it owns one national key discipline (Resources Exploration Engineering), one Hebei Province key laboratory (Resource Survey and Research), one Hebei Province teaching group, one Collaborative Innovation Center of Coal Exploitation of Hebei Province (2011 Program) and one innovation groups awarded by Hebei Province (Juren Program, in field of coal associated deposit).
